About A-I Computer Solutions

Local From Day One

A-I Computer Solutions opened in Watertown in 2008, back when a "slow computer" usually meant too many browser toolbars and the only cloud most folks knew was the one over Lake Kampeska. A lot has changed since then — solid-state drives, ransomware, remote everything — but the reason people come through our door hasn't: something they depend on broke, and they need someone they trust to fix it.

We're not a franchise and not a side job. We're an LLC, a real storefront at 25 5th Street NE, and a business that has paid its bills in this community for well over a decade. Most of our customers find us the old-fashioned way — a neighbor, a coworker, or somebody at church tells them to call us. We intend to keep earning that.

How We Approach the Work

Diagnosis before dollars. Every job starts with figuring out what's actually wrong. You get a clear estimate and approve it before any repair begins. If the machine isn't worth fixing, we say so in plain language — even when the honest answer costs us a repair ticket.

Your data is sacred. The files on your computer — photos, records, books, correspondence — matter more than the hardware around them. We treat customer data as confidential, access only what the job requires, and securely wipe any working copies when a job is done. You'll find the details in our privacy policy, but the short version is: we handle your machine the way we'd want ours handled.

Plain English, always. Computers have enough jargon already. When we explain what's wrong, what it costs, and how to avoid it next time, we do it like neighbors talking over the counter — because that's what we are.

Who We Serve

Home Users

Laptops that won't boot, desktops full of pop-ups, photos stuck on a dying drive, Wi-Fi that dies in the back bedroom. Bring it in — walk-ins are welcome, and there's no problem too small to ask about.

Small Businesses

Main street shops, offices and clinics across the area that need their machines working every hour of the workday. We provide both per-incident help and monthly managed support that catches problems before they cost you a day.

Farms & Ranches

Country internet, office computers in drafty shop offices, record-keeping software that absolutely cannot lose a season of data, and connections to outbuildings. We understand rural setups and we make on-site calls when driving to town isn't practical.

Where We Work

Our shop is in Watertown, and most of our customers come from Codington County. We regularly serve the surrounding area — Milbank, Brookings, Webster, Sisseton and the country in between — because in a rural region, "local" covers a bigger map. When the weather's bad or the trip is long, remote support often solves the problem without anyone leaving home.

Why "A-I"?

Short, easy to spell on the phone, and first in a lot of lists. The name has been on the door since 2008, and our customers know it — which, for a local service business, is really the whole point.
